Pilot Magazine launches Live App

PageSuite’s first Live App has been released for Archant’s leading aviation title, Pilot Magazine. The new Live App brings readers the latest news, flight tests, travel articles, technique features and much more to inspire, inform and entertain.
PageSuite have currently released over 60 PDF-replica Dynamic Apps for Archant across iOS and Android, ranging from regional newspapers to specialist magazine titles. However, the Live App offers a completely new and enhanced reading experience, combining exclusive articles, full screen imagery and photo galleries, as well as being completely optimised for iPad.
The app is created by channelling existing XML and JSON feeds into a framework of customisable templates to deliver an interactive and immersive, edition-based magazine.
The user-friendly interface and flexible settings make it easy for Pilot readers to access the content that interests them, with customisable category sections, social sharing, alternate article reading options, full search functionality plus the ability to add additional news sources from around the world.
Pilot Live is free to download from the iTunes Store and comes with a 30-day trial, after which monthly or annual subscription options are available. Subscriptions include full access to live content, as well as archived editions.

The Orcadian reaches top 10 in the iTunes Chart

Following the success of The Orcadian’s digital edition that was released back in November, last Thursday the newspaper launched new Dynamic Apps for iPhone, iPad, Android and Kindle Fire. Shortly after going live, The Orcadian app shot to number 10 in the Top Grossing iPhone News app chart in the App Store on Friday.
The Orcadian’s Dynamic App features full subscription integration across digital editions and apps, so subscribers can enjoy access to the newspaper across both channels via unique login details.
The Orcadian joined several other PageSuite apps in the top 50, including Daily and Sunday Express, Daily Star, Express & Star News, Shropshire Star, South Wales Evening Post, The Argus and Guernsey Press and Star.

Northern and Shell launch Windows Phone 8 apps across five titles

New apps released for Windows Phone users
Apps for Daily Express, Daily Star, OK! Magazine, Star Magazine and new! Magazine are now available to download for Windows Phone 8 devices. The new apps are in addition to the Windows 8 and Windows RT apps that were developed for Northern and Shell by PageSuite in October last year.
These publisher-branded applications are based on PageSuite’s popular Dynamic App framework that relies on one streamlined workflow to publish content cross-platform to iOS, Android, Kindle Fire and Windows 8. The apps feature interactive replica editions and a full archive, as well as options to search, share and download content to enjoy offline.
All five apps are available to download for free and include a 14-day free subscription before rolling onto recurring time-based paid subscriptions.
