What solutions do PageSuite provide?

  • PageSuite provide digital edition software and mobile / tablet application development across iPhone, iPad, Android, Bada and WebOS devices for publishers.
  • PageSuite Professional is a digital edition software solution. Dynamic Apps and Custom Apps are development products for mobile / tablet platforms.

Who uses PageSuite?

  • PageSuite Professional and application development is used and commissioned by over 1500 clients and manufacturers across the world, delivering over 50,000 digital and app publications to millions of readers.

What is PageSuite Professional software?

  • PageSuite Professional software primarily publishes PDF-based digital magazines, newspapers and brochures, in Flash for PC and Mac, HTML5 for mobile web or within applications.

What is PageSuite’s Custom / Dynamic application development?

  • Custom mobile and tablet applications may feature live news, video, image galleries or complex subscriptions. Dynamic Applications are based on a standard app framework, white-labelled for each publisher brand. PageSuite also modify existing products by designing new interfaces or tools as custom projects.

What is HTML5 for mobile web?

  • HTML5 allows digital editions to be auto-served via a mobile or tablet device on the web. PC and Mac editions are optimised in Flash on the web, however Flash isn’t compatible with iPhone or iPad, so HTML5 is the optimised technology for these devices.

How do I create an edition?

  • Each client is assigned login details to the PageSuite Professional portal to log-in. Use your account credits to name and date your publication and each edition. Then upload PDF’s manually or pre-schedule to process automatically, typically within 15 minutes, to create a base edition.

How do I add media to editions?

  • Media can be uploaded and stored in your account, then accessed via the Media Tool at publication or edition level. Add links, video and images and audio from the Media Tool by following the instructions. Save each page and edition once you are complete. Changes will be visible instantly.

How do I automatically process editions?

  • PageSuite first consult each client to understand the file-naming conventions, to publish clients’ content correctly. Clients then use scheduling tools to set the day and time you wish your editions to process and then go live.

What type of PDF’s and Media (Video, Images) are required?

  • Either upload single page PDFs or multiple pages within one PDF as PageSuite will split them out correctly. Video can be added as YouTube 11-Digit-ID or as FLV, WMV, MOV, AVI, MPG or MP4. Images are required to be JPG or GIF.

What quality / effects do the PDFs need to have?

  • PageSuite recommend a the standard PDF resolution at 300 DPI. The higher the PDF resolution, the better the quality of your publication. PageSuite also recommend PDF’s are flattened to remove transparencies.
  • PageSuite can auto-remove crop-marks at publication level, so clients can supply PDF’s with or without.

Can links be made active?

  • You can put internal and external links in all publications and editions using the Media Tool in the PageSuite Professional Control Panel.
  • Auto-Links can be run on the edition once it has processed to automatically pick up URL and email links in your edition and make them live. To ensure 100% success of automatic links being picked up, PageSuite recommend adding links to the original PDF pre-process.

Who does PageSuite use to host publications?

  • Rackspace, Amazon and Akamai are all used to store and distribute PageSuite editions across the world, promising a minimum 99.9% up-time.

Can I host the publication myself?

  • PageSuite host all publications, so no client self-hosting is available. The reasons for this is to keep costs low and service levels high. We do not external factors to risk server infrastructure storage or distribution.

How much will PageSuite cost?

  • Product pricing is based on the number of titles, publishing frequency, average circulation and average pagination of clients. Understanding your business model – i.e. free or paid-for, subscriber or advertising based, and custom requirements will also help PageSuite tailor solution pricing to you.

How will readers access my digital or application editions?

  • Clients may choose to put a direct link or mini-edition on digital channels, such as websites, social networking or internal channels.
  • Clients can also broadcast digital editions via PageSuite’s Mass Email tool – using our standard template does not contain anything that spam control software may mistake as spam.
  • Applications are marketed through the various App Stores – Publishers can add keywords and descriptions to their App name to increase discoverability. Manufacturers often contact PageSuite directly for further promotional opportunities, which we relay to clients and contribute to.

How do I enable subscriptions?

  • Clients have a range of options, from data capture and metered membership access, through to pre-payment or bundling with print or app subscriptions before accessing anything. Account Managers assist client set-up – discussing business model, payment provider, data capture and any new limitations or opportunities.

Can a publication be read offline?

  • Clients can choose to allow whole editions, pages or clippings to be distributed – The download PDF function across all products stores content locally for offline reading.

What is required to run PageSuite Professional?

  • In order to use PageSuite Professional software clients will need the following system requirements:
    • MS Windows XP and above or Mac OS X version 10 and above
    • Flash version 8 or above
    • 512 mb of ram
    • Any major browser

How do I navigate between each page?

  • You can swipe the screen left and right to read the edition using touch screen navigation. You can also tap the arrows on the navigation bar to flick between pages or choose the front / back page.

Can I select an individual page to view?

  • You can enter a page number in the navigation bar or choose the “Pages” tab and scroll through mini-thumbnails to pick the one required.

How do I zoom in and out?

  • Double tap on the area of the page you wish to zoom into. There is also a second level of zoom, again using double tap. A final double tap will reset to default level.

How do I download editions or pages?

  • Tap on the menu tab and choose download. You will then be able to select the whole edition or individual pages to download. During the download process a progress bar will fill the URL bar.

Where is downloaded content accessible from?

  • iPhone and iPad users will be able to read downloaded PDF’s in the browser. This content is now offline.

How do I share content?

  • Tap on the menu tab at the top of the edition, then tap on “Share” for either Facebook and Twitter.

What happens when I click on live adverts?

  • Advertisers website or emails will pop-up full screen, which you can navigate in the separate browser or close. Use the browser tabs to navigate between adverts and back to the edition. Each publisher controls their content and whether they link adverts or not.

  • iPhone, iPod and iPad: Tap on the menu tab at the top of the edition, then tap on “Share” for Facebook, Twitter and email.
  • Android: Tap your device menu button, then tap on “Share” for Facebook, Twitter and email.

What happens when I click on live adverts?

  • Advertisers’ website or emails will pop-up full screen. Use the back button to navigate back to the edition. Each publisher controls their content and whether they link adverts or not.

How do I search content?

  • Content can be searched either via the search bar at the top of the screen or using the menu tab and selecting “Search This Edition”. Full results will then be displayed, separated between the edition and publication.
